After successful events in 2013, Cutty Sark asked us again to produce their 2014 NYC Secret Club events. This time the event space was given a makeover to look like a real locksmith (designed with hints of the Cutty Sark brand), complete with antique props and actors. Once inside, attendees were given a key which opened a hidden door leading to the true club entrance, and treated to a jazz quartet, burlesque, DJs spinning modern dance music, and of course, LOTS of whiskey. Despite rain, the event was a massive success and packed all night. A second farewell event was thrown two days later at The Blind Barber in the East Village, a trendy bar that has a real barbershop that you have to enter through. I was responsible for creative direction for both events, doing everything from assisting with conceptualization, all renderings, and working with vendors to ensure high quality production of all designs.
